Cupping is found in numerous cultures but is an ancient Chinese therapy. The treatment involves the use of specialized cups in which a vacuum is created causing the skin to pull up into the cup.
Some of the benefits from cupping are pain relief from sore muscles, decrease in fascial restrictions, help increase circulation and release toxin accumulation, treatment of lower back pain and trigger points.
A cupping session can be booked as a stand alone treatment or as part of a regular massage visit. Cups are usually left on anywhere from 5 to 15 minutes and this modality is safe for use with all ages.
