We are pleased to have Dr. Derry join us as our Interim Naturopathic Doctor.
Chelsea Derry has a great passion for naturopathic medicine, and truly believes that the body has the ability to heal itself, given the right tools. By identifying the root cause of an illness, a solution will be found, rather than a band-aid. Chelsea customizes an individualized treatment plan for each patient, and she believes that patients armed with the best combination of conventional medicine and naturopathic medicine are sure to come out on top.
Dr. Derry completed her undergraduate training at McMaster University, receiving a Bachelor of Science in Life Science, with minors in psychology and geology. She then attended The Canadian College of Nauropathic Medicine, an accredited four-year post-graduate naturopathic medical program, and graduated in 2010. While at CCNM, Chelsea completed a specialized internship at Anishinawbe Health Centre for First Nations, gaining relevant experience in drug and alcohol addictions, trauma/abuse, psychiatric conditions, and counseling.
Being a person who enjoys variety, she currently runs a family based practice, taking on patients of all ages with a myriad of health concerns.
Dr. Derry has an interest in the health issues specific to the GLBTQ community, and is knowledgeable in Trans wellness and natural transitioning. Chelsea is a volunteer for Pride Durham and for PFLAG. Dr. Derry is registered with Rainbow Health Ontario and the Canadian Rainbow Health Coalition.
Chelsea is also a registered member of the Ontario Association of Naturopathic Doctors (OAND), the CCNM Alumni Association.
In her spare time Chelsea enjoys reading, watching documentaries, dancing, cooking, movies, camping, canoeing, swimming, and spending time with her family, friends and beloved animals.
